What to Expect

  • Tours are approximately 1 hour in length

  • Tours begin with a short educational session before suiting up to learn & discuss what we will be doing and looking for inside the hives as well as procedures, need-to-knows, Q&A’s, and tips for the experience.

  • We will suit up and compare different hives, witness different happenings of the hive, and perform hive work guided by one of our knowledgeable beekeepers.

  • Each experience visiting the bees is unique and special; as are we as individuals! Thus, we cater to your comfort level for your personal experience with the bees!

What to Bring

  • Baseball cap or bandana to keep your hair out of your face when you cannot adjust once suited up.

  • Boots ie cowboy boots, hiking boots, rain boots. If you don't have boots that cover your ankles then wearing hightop sneakers or long socks with your shoes is okay. Just as long as your ankles are covered.

  • A long sleeved shirt and long pants - preferably slightly baggy. This is for protection from the sun and mosquitos before we get suited; you will get hot and sweaty so bringing a change of clothes or a towel for the car ride home is a good idea!

  • Please do not wear any perfumes, colognes, essential oils, or any other strongly scented deodorants to tour the apiary. The bees are very sensitive to these things and it may cause agitation.

  • PLENTY OF DRINKING WATER FOR YOURSELF AND EVERYONE IN YOUR GROUP!

What to Know Before you Book

  • Our Beehive Tours are scheduled per time slot. When you schedule your time slot you can bring up to 6 adults and 6 children to meet the bees! (Or just come yourself!) If you have a larger group of adults of kiddos please reach out directly as we can accommodate with proper planning!

  • Our Beekeeping Class is a 1-1 learning experience! If you’d like to take the class with a partner please reach out directly, we can accommodate this!

  • A beekeepers suit is fully enclosed. Once suited up you will not be able to touch or scratch your face or blow your nose or fix your hair so please ‘bee’ mindful of this.

  • Be prepared to SWEAT! If it’s a hot day you are going to be HOT! Please bring plenty of drinking water for everyone in your group.

  • If you are allergic to bees you are required to bring your own epipen. We have epipens at the ready in case of any unlikely emergencies but if you know you are allergic to bees please ‘bee’ smart and come prepared.

  • You will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to taking your tour. This will ‘bee’ emailed to you upon booking your visit!

  • There is not a restroom at the bee yard! The closest, easiest restroom to access before/after your visit is at the HEB at 3875 W Davis St, Conroe, Tx 77304

What is Provided

  • Safety gear ie full beekeepers suit with full head veil and sting resistant beekeeping gloves!

  • All other tools necessary for a visit into a bee hive!

  • All the answers to your bee questions!

Please ‘bee’ mindful that the weather can affect our ability to work with the bees.

Be aware of the upcoming weather when you schedule your tour or class! We want warm and sunny conditions! If on your scheduled tour or class date there is rain or bad weather you will be contacted and given the option to reschedule for a sunnier day!

"I went to my local farmers market and met Ally and her bees! After speaking with her and us sharing the same passion about the importance of honey bees she invited me to take a beginner bee keeping class. I am SO glad I did, the class was very informative and we even went to the hives to learn more. I am so glad I went and the experience heightened my excitement to become a new bee keeper. Thank you Bee EZ!!!"

"My husband and my 2 kids took a tour at Bee Ez Apiary. What an experience they had. The spend 3 hours learning about the bees, visiting the bee hives and even touching them. The lady who was their guide was amazing with kids and even my 6 year old stayed focused for the whole 3 hours. When I asked my husband what he thought he said that it was the best money ever spend. A week later my kids still talk about their visit and the incredible and smart crechures that bees are. I highly recommend Bee Ez Apiary."
